Camberwell Free Film Festival (CFFF) is back this year, aiming to showcase a powerful yet eclectic collection of visual experiences from independent filmmakers, animators and storytellers.
The CFFF is a free community festival founded in 2013 by Victor Ferreiro. Motivated by a lack of cinema venues in the area and a desire to strengthen the community and support local independent businesses, Victor set up this volunteer-run, free-to-attend annual film programme, held in the public spaces of SE5 South London.
Under the guidance of Victor, Camberwell Arts will be assisting to run the Camberwell Free Film Festival in 2020 and beyond, under the mission to support local business, strengthen community bonds and enjoy a shared love of cinema – for free.

Previous iterations of the festival have shown a wide variety of film, from cult classics and fan favourites to social histories, local investigations and stand-alone experiences. This year, the CFFF offering is all online, for free, for one day only. We will be exploring various themes related to lockdown and the pandemic. This could include:
Families and resilience in lockdown
Surrealist / abstract escapes from the new normal
Alternative Christmas / festive messages
Permanent closures and new beginnings
Forgotten peoples and local heroes

We invite all creatives to make submissions:
of films, shorts, animations or documentaries,
of any length and genre,
that can apply the themes outlined above,
which are fully cleared, including any music rights.
The film should be viewable online. If you need to send us another format, please contact us before submitting. All entries will be reviewed on a rolling basis with a submission deadline of 4th December.
