Artist Statement

Cutler has lived and worked as an artist printmaker in Camberwell for 21 years. Much of her work focuses on character portraits of members of the London community who are resident, working or visiting the local area. I use old printers lead type to describe the connection to the area each individual has. Cutlers work becomes historical documents that record the look of people in a given time and their occupations and activities.

She uses linocut and more recently recycled collograph and lead type to print my work. She have exhibited widely and received notable commissions from most notably The Royal Academy Summer Exhibition, BBC Books, Tate Gallery, Royal Society of Portrait Painters and Dulwich Picture Gallery.
