YGB - Voices of Black Folk: In Unexpected Places

  • Theatre Peckham 221 Havil Street London, England, SE5 7SB United Kingdom (map)

A timely portrait of the contributions of Black people across the world, this ensemble piece reimagines iconic Black heroes throughout history meeting here and now.

Presented by Duo Arts, and written and directed by Khareem Jamal, the event shares the fascinating lives of Septimius Severus, Queen Philippa of Hainault, Ottobah Coguano and Joseph Bolgone - all who pop up in history in places we wouldn’t expect such as the Roman empire, the British Royal family and the French Revolution.

Tickets cost £15 (£12 for concessions; £10 for local residents) and can be booked online at www.theatrepeckham.co.uk/show/ygb-voices-of-black-folk-in-unexpected-places/#tabs-book
