This is one in a series of events by Dulwich Picture Gallery in collaboration with Camberwell College of Arts.  

Taking place at Camberwell College of Arts, join an exciting line-up of international and nationally acclaimed art historians and artists in this day of talks. Guest speakers will share their own unique approaches to making abstract art. You will get the chance to reflect on what it means to be innovative and creatively free in art. This event is inspired by Helen Frankenthaler and her ‘No rules’ approach to art making.

There will be a Q&A session at the end of the Symposium for the guest speakers to answer public questions. 

A drinks reception will follow the event, from 6pm. Access to the drinks reception and free drinks will be included in the ticket price. This talk will be recorded.

This event was curated with Professor Daniel Sturgis. Daniel Sturgis is a British artist and professor of painting at the University of the Arts London, Camberwell College of Arts. He is a founding associate editor of The Journal for Contemporary Painting, a specialist selector and chapter author for Phaidon’s painting anthology Vitamin P3 and he has written for Tate Papers, Burlington Magazine and Texte zur Kunst.

Keeping everyone safe
