BirdGang ltd presents White Girl / Black Girl & Everything Inbetween, a series of films by Simeon Qsyea and shows that look at race, religion & sex through the eyes of 6 women. The work takes a bold lookinto the depths of the questions we don't like to openly ask and gives the audience a reality check.
The assumption in life is that we should focus on one thing at a time to understand it. But how is this achievable, when life throws multiple things towards us all at once? This becomes even more complicated when you add race, age & class into the mix.
White Girl Black Girl And Everything Inbetween are three films, part of film and theatre show Interwoven. Conceived in Camberwell & based on characters from the area, the show was produced at Young Vic and the films were made in collaboration with South Bank Centre.
Simeon Qsyea is a film director and choreographer with firm roots in theatre, and the founder of BirdGang Ltd. He’s choreographer commercials for JD Sports & Bose as well as working with Dizzie Rascal and Will.i.am. He’s presented work at the Young Vice, the O2, The National Theatre and the Round House and has collaborated with Lenny Henry and Dynamo the Magician, amongst others.
