Prospect follows the story of Daniel Chambers, a quiet and respectful young man from south London who spends his time looking after his disabled mother and holding down a job at a local corner shop. His only relief is through boxing. He is presented with the chance to change his fortunes and future for himself and his mother, when an event he is boxing in, is attended by a well known promoter interested in new talent. It’s here where Daniel meets Benni, a hateful individual who plans revenge on him after losing said boxing match to Daniel.
Daniel comes back to his house one night after work to find his mother unconscious on the floor, with the house turned upside down. It’s by pure chance Benni, who is hidden upstairs, upon exiting the house stumbles over a bag Daniel dropped in the hallway, and the film ends with Daniel being led into a police car. The moral of the story is, one action can define your life regardless of how moral or dedicated you are to trying to improve it.
