Description
Stylish white porcelain dangle earrings with aqua blue fused glass. Beautiful, versatile leaf shape, translucent and lightweight material. Completed with a long silver-tone wire hooks with secure fastening. The back of the earrings is unglazed. Ready to wear or to gift with a reusable organza drawstring bag.
THE PROCESS For these earrings the pattern is created by pressing hand-carved woodblocks into soft clay. I have collected woodblocks over many journeys in India where they are traditionally used for textile printing. The unique surface is created using a mix of glaze, oxides and bits of crushed/recycled glass that melts in the kiln and gives a light-catching, crystalline finish. This process that involves two overnight firing up to 1240º C.
