The Camberwell Rainbow

Tom Leighton (2).jpg

The Camberwell Rainbow first came into conception during the lock down. Spending time outside in the back garden and out on my street. Trying to make the most of sunshine. I had just stopped working to isolate and had been using my hourly walk to go to Peckham Rye and back. During my walks I noticed the wonderful rainbows in the windows that the children had been drawing. I thought it was such a great way to show love for the NHS and spread joy to people walking by. During lockdown my dad had gone in the hospital due to his lung condition IPF ( idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis ) which he’s had for the last 4 years. The NHS have done such a great job for him over that time. So, I decided as a small thanks to the NHS, key workers and to everyone doing their part in this tough time I would draw the Large Rainbow on the side of my house ( big thanks to terry and lynne for allowing it to happen )  and bring a little joy, like the children.
