More about the artist
Elizabeth's When I Decorate Things ethos is colour and pattern - more is more! She creates and sells two types of products. Firstly she hand-paints and decorates previously neglected wooden items in bright colours and patterns; and secondly, she also creates brightly coloured, shiny artworks and playful jewellery pieces using resin and fluid painting techniques. She is a member of the Crystal Palace Exhibit 12 collective of artists and has taken part in various London and southeast art exhibitions, and craft and vintage fairs and markets.
Elizabeth is also a member of the nationwide House of Upcycling, with reuse and repurpose being an important part of her way of working. She makes her resin art using vinyl records and CDs as canvases and incorporates other items in her work - such as sweet wrappers, old jewellery findings, and leftover resin from previous pieces. All her wooden creations are made using old previously unloved pieces of furniture or smaller wooden ornaments, transforming them and giving them a new lease of life. Elizabeth has creations to suit every budget - from pocket money pieces which children love (most children love colourful shiny things!) upwards.
