Artist’s Statement
A mixed medium artist and screen printer that concentrates on colour and contrast. Different tones and shapes are used to give the impressions of images, using only a few colours and stencils are layered together to create depth.
The stencils for screen printing are either hand cut or photographically exposed. Hand cutting the stencil allows for a simpler image, often creating hard lines to separate tones while photographically exposing stencils allows for more detail and a cleaner image. It also allows for some photo manipulation to create surreal looking scenes.
