Corinne Alexander
Artist’s Bio
Corinne finds inspiration from everyday objects, giving new life to common items that she brings together to create unique, bold and playfully illustrations.
Corinne graduated from Winchester School of Art in 2008 with a specialist degree in Textile Art. In 2016 after a shock diagnosis of Ulcerative Colitis, an incurable bowel disease, she shifted her energy away from the high-stress corporate world and instead reconnected and concentrated, once again, on her creative passions, a process that she found therapeutic.
After a successful launch of her first limited edition print, "The Cutlery Draw”, taken from her original drawings, Corinne has expanded into a range of high quality kitchenware, including her very popular tea towels and placemats.
I create my illustrations using a hand and digital drawing and watercolour techniques. Often pulling lots of illustrations together to form a collection. I choose to use small British manufacturers to produce all my products and packaging because I believe in supporting local small businesses, keeping the carbon footprint of my products as low as possible, and guaranteeing that the quality of my products remain consistently high.
Corinne’s enthusiasm for her increasing line of work to remain a UK designed, produced and manufactured reflects her passion for supporting small and local creativity.
